

ProstatitisAcute bacterial prostatitis: Category 1
Signs and symptoms may include:
- Painful ejaculation
- Fever and chills
- Pain in the groin, prostate gland or lower back.
- Urinary problems, inability to completely empty the bladder, difficulty or pain when urinating, urinary urgency and frequency,.
Chronic bacterial prostatitis: Category 2
Signs and symptoms of chronic bacterial prostatitis include:
- Recurring bladder infections
- A slight fever
- Painful ejaculation
- Occasional blood in semen or in urine
- Pain in the lower back and genital area
- Difficulty starting to urinate, or diminished urine flow
- Excessive urination during the night (nocturia)
- Pain in the pelvic area
- Pain or a burning sensation when urinating (dysuria)
Chronic nonbacterial prostatitis: Category 3
you probably won't have a fever. Lab tests to find out whether bacteria is in the urine or prostate gland fluid.When to seek medical advice
If you have persistent urinary discomfort and pain, or pain during ejaculation, you need to see your doctor. If untreated, there would be a more serious problems.
Finish your course of antibiotics to make sure the infection has cleared if you have acute bacterial prostatitis treatment.
