Criteria for a Successful Prostatitis Treatment
Eradication of Prostate Infections and Microorganisms
The standard for a cure is not as simple as it seems because of the nature of prostatitis.
A typical phenomenon is that a patient regard a cure as a complete disappearance of symptoms whereas a doctor may regard a cure as the negative results on lab tests. So when a doctor declares a prostatitis patient a cure after all negative results on lab tests, the prostatitis patient disagree with complains about his remaining symptoms.
The first criteria for a cure is the complete eradication of microorganisms and infection.
We must stress that the word "complete" because bacteria is either completely dead or returns with full force after prostatitis treatment. There is situation in between.
If there are no symptoms back after three to six months, it is very safe to declare that the cure is stable and the bacteria is completely gone.
Lab tests are not 100% dependable, so it is best to have two or three rounds of lab tests to verify the results.
Due to time constraints, lab tests are done right after the end of treatment and that is not the best condition for lab testing. If possible, redo the lab testing after several months so that the result is more reliable.
