Lab Tests and Exams of Unblocking Prostatitis Treatment
Interim Laboratory Exams with Prostatitis Patients
After receiving injections for about 12-15 days, there is a need to evaluate the progress of individual case. One way is to have DRE to check for the texture and size of prostate, the other way is to have lab tests for microorganisms found in previous comprehensive tests.
Interim lab exams include DRE to check the texture and size of prostate glands and possible specific hardening area, semen analysis to check the count of lecithin that is vital for fertility and the white blood cell count.
White blood cell count is important in evaluation of inflammation in the prostate glands. For Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma infection, there is always one to three count of white blood cells in one microscopic view. If the inflammation is gone, the white blood cell count should be reduced to zero or one.
Lecithin count is also an important indicator of the level of sexual desire of prostatitis patient. With inflammation, the lecithin count is one one quarter of the normal numbers and the libido of prostatitis patients is very low. When inflammation is gone, the lecithin count would get back to three quarter or full count of the normal numbers.
