Epididymis Infection or Epididymitis
Epididymitis is inflammation or infection of the epididymis that is usually caused by a bacterial infection. Testicle infection is the most common reason for inflammation in the scrotum.
Some prostatitis patients complain symptoms of epididymis infection and would be give injections to the epididymis too.
The injection is not in directly into the epididymis tissue, instead, the inection is close to the organ tissue so that the medicine could diffuse into the epididymis.
The pain level is relatively high because of the sensitive nerves in that area and prostatitis patients need to take a rest for a while before they could feel the subside of pain.
The epididymis is divided into head, body and tail areas. and absorb fluid and help nourish sperms.
Epididymitis Causes
Epididymitis infection is often a bacterial infection that the bacteria moves to the epididymis by moving up through the urethra tract.
There are two types of bacteria that is causing episisymitis, STD organisms and coliforms that grow in the intestines.
In sexually active adult the causes are usually the organisms that cause STDs such as chalmydia and gonorrhea.
Epididymitis SymptomsThe symptoms usually in the scrotum or groin area.
Abdomen pain that starts in the vas deferens and into the epididymis. The symptoms show in the area of lower back and groin.
The epididymis infection cause scrotal pain and swelling and could reach the twice normal size.
