Time Requirement for Prostatitis Injections

Duration for Treating Prostatitis

The duration for a complete treatment depends on the type of infection, with or without blockage, duration of infection.

The infection is a big factor on the duration of treatment. For simple bacterial prostatitis infection, the damage to the prostate glands is mild and blockage is rare. Bacteria usually reacts well to prostatitis injections. Since it is the easiest type of prostatitis to treat. 15-20 days are required for the prostatitis treatment.

Prostatitis with mixed infections such as bacteria and Ureaplasma or Mycoplasma, are more complicated. This type of infections inflict more damage to the prostate glands and are able to change the texture of prostate glands with blockage. Plus the Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma are more stubborn and resilient with antibiotics, 25-35 days of treatment is needed.

If the prostatitis infection is more than five years. The damage to the prostate is much more serious and blockage is more compact, resulting in more time for softening process to take place. It could well takes 40-50 days in order for the century-old blockage to break down significantly.

Since the best duration for treatment of prostate glands should not exceed 40-50 days after a long time soaking process, and also this group of prostatitis patients are older, weaker in immunity and with seriously damaged prostate glands, it is recommended that they take a break even though some blockage is still there.

Once they are clear of all bacteria. They may head home first and get give some time for the prostate glands and the body to recover. They may then come back after three to six months to have another session of treatment aim at unblocking.

Giving sufficient time for the urologists and prostatitis injections to work is a important criteria for a successful treatment. If you are in a rush, we could intensify the treatment in order to make your stay shorter. Although this is not recommended, many prostatitis patients simply don't have the luxury of staying a full month for the treatment.

The reason that we don't recommended rushing the treatment is that duration of injections affects cure rate.
